The New York Jets haven’t won a Super Bowl since “Broadway” Joe Namath led them to one of the NFL’s greatest upsets in Super Bowl III.
With quarterback Aaron Rodgers at the helm, former Green Bay Packers teammate Brett Favre thinks the Jets have a chance to bring home the Lombardi Trophy for the first time in 55 years.
Brett Favre has high praise for the New York Jets and quarterback Aaron Rodgers
Despite coming off a season-ending Achilles injury in 2023, Favre said in an interview on the Zach Gelb Show that Rodgers could lead the Jets to a Super Bowl in 2024.
Brett Favre told me there’s not a better playmaker at the QB position in the NFL right now than Aaron Rodgers and he expects @AaronRodgers12 to compete for a Super Bowl with the Jets this season. @InfSportsNet @WFAN660 @ConcussedFilm @BrettFavre

Favre didn’t only have praise for Rodgers and what he’s been able to do as a quarterback in the NFL, but he also had high praise for the Jets defense.
After seeing their season go up in flames just a few plays into 2023, the Jets defense still managed to finish No. 3 overall in the league in yards allowed by being one of just five teams to allow less than 300 yards per game.
The Jets also managed to field the No. 2 pass defense in the NFL, allowing just 168.3 passing yards per game. As Favre says, if Rodgers is his old self upon coming back from his Achilles injury, the Jets are strong contenders to make a deep playoff run.
Many fans disagree with Brett Favre’s take about Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets
Upon hearing that Favre thinks Rodgers has more than a good shot to compete for a Super Bowl, many fans took to social media to explain why they think Favre is incorrect.
This isn’t the first time Favre has predicted good things from Rodgers since he joined the Jets. In an article from ESPN, Favre said Rodgers would handle the transition from the Packers to the Jets as well as anyone.
“Aaron will do great!!!!” Favre said in a text message to ESPN’s Ed Werder. “He will handle the transition as well as anyone. [He’s a] very smart and instinctive person, on and off the field. In other words, you’re not going to catch him by surprise very often.
“And I think [he’s] the best at making everyone around him better. I would rather not bet at all than bet against him.”
Other fans took exception to the fact that Favre, who has been embroiled in a political scandal, has a platform to explain his predictions in the first place.

Lost a ton of respect for you, Zach. You gave this backward thinking criminal oxygen and hype. Thought you had standards.
