New York Jets Pegged To Trade For 62-Game Starter That Would “Propel Them To Super Bowl”

The New York Jets know that the 2023 season didn’t mean much when it comes to showing the league they are a Super Bowl contender.  The Jets may have finished with a 7-10 record last season, but a healthy Aaron Rodgers changes everything.

Rodgers joined the Jets in hopes to win at least one more Super Bowl before he reties.  Those dreams could come a reality if the team agree to a few trades, specifically a former Jet, according to one analyst.

The New York Jets Could Land Former Player In Trade That Would “Help Them Win The Super Bowl”

The Jets could get Quinton Jefferson back

Quinton Jefferson played the 2023 season with the Jets and had a pretty decent year. He even finished with six sacks, which is his career best to date. After his one-year deal came to an end, he joined the Cleveland Browns for the 2024 season on another one-year deal. However, the competition in Cleveland is quite stiff, and Jefferson may be looking at a reduced role with the Browns.

If Jefferson falls down the order in Cleveland, he may look for a return to the Jets. New York can still use his services to further bolster their interior defense. A reunion for both parties could make sense, as Jefferson would add more depth to one of the top defensive lines in the league.

Jefferson played 14 games for the Jets in 2023, recording six sacks, 34 tackles, four tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. In addition, he started all of those 14 games.

Jefferson was originally drafted by the Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2016 draft. He spent his first four seasons in Seattle. In 2020 and 2021, he spent one season with the Bills and one with the Raiders before returning to the Seahawks in 2022.He has played in 103 games with 62 starts, totaling 26.5 sacks, 192 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, and 77 quarterback hits in his NFL career.
