The New York Jets have had an unfathomable start to their 2023 season. Less than five minutes into their first game of the season Aaron Rodgers suffers a season-ending Achilles tear. The Jets would go on to win that game in dramatic fashion, however, many questions remain about what they’ll do at quarterback for the remainder of the season.
Jets’ head coach Robert Saleh has been adamant that Zach Wilson will be their starting quarterback going forward. The organization seemed committed to him even after Rodgers was done playing. However, there is one veteran quarterback who could make a difference for their team right now.
New York Jets Linked To QB Case Keenum After Aaron Rodgers’ Season-Ending Injury

Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports that the organization has begun contacting veteran free-agent signal-callers despite their public support for Wilson. Some of the most prominent free-agent options for the Jets include Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Joe Flacco, Matt Ryan, and Carson Wentz.
The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov floated the idea of the Jets monitoring Houston Texans quarterback Case Keenum as an “interesting trade name.”
Keenum completed 9-of-14 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown during the Texans’ preseason win over the New England Patriots on August 10th. His NFL career includes 64 starts, 78 games played, a 62.3% completion rate, 14,884 passing yards, and 78 touchdowns.
Case Keenum would bring that veteran experience right back to the quarterback room and leave the Jets with options if Wilson’s play isn’t up to snuff.
