Jets’ Former head coach Rex Ryan made headlines by labeling Taylor as the best backup quarterback in the NFL. Ryan, who previously coached Taylor during his time with the Buffalo Bills, was instrumental in bringing him to the team in 2015. Under Taylor’s leadership, the Bills ended a lengthy playoff drought, compiling a 23-20 record during his tenure as starter.
After spending the last two seasons with the New York Giants, where he started five games, Taylor has now joined the Jets. His signing comes at a crucial time, especially following the injury to Aaron Rodgers in the season opener.
