At some point, Aaron Rodgers will have to give in to time and his performance will certainly be affected. Before this happens, the New York Jets may entertain the option of acquiring Bryce Young from the Carolina Panthers, as detailed in a mock trade by Bleacher Report.
Rodgers is gearing up for an impactful performance as the Jets prepare to face the Denver Broncos in Week 4. After suffering an Achilles injury just four plays into his first season with the Jets, Rodgers is determined to silence his critics and prove he still has what it takes at the age of 40.
DeMarcus Ware, a former Super Bowl champion, has observed a renewed energy in Rodgers, remarking that the quarterback seems motivated to demonstrate his skills and maturity this season. Rodgers’ recent gameplay reflects a sense of urgency and confidence, suggesting he’s fueled by a desire to rewrite his narrative.
His focus extends beyond personal redemption; he aims to lead the Jets to success and potentially challenge for a playoff spot. With a chip on his shoulder, he is ready to leverage his experience and talent, dismissing doubts about his performance due to age or injury.
The upcoming matchup against the Broncos is crucial for Rodgers, who hopes to make a statement. Fans and analysts alike are eager to see if he can deliver touchdowns and lead his team to victory. Ware believes that Rodgers possesses the talent to excel under pressure, even stating that he could score with his eyes closed.
NFL Analysis Projects Bryce Young Going to New York Jets to Replace Aaron Rodgers
If things don’t work out for Rodgers and the Jets, they can check out what Young has to offer. This can be seen in a mock NFL trade proposed by Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox.
“The Panthers aren’t looking to trade Young, but a change of direction could still be better for both team and player.
And Carolina has reportedly received trade interest.
“There’s four teams who actually called the Panthers this week and tried to inquire to see if they can trade for Bryce Young,” Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer said on Fox NFL Sunday (h/t Bleacher Report’s Julia Stumbaugh). “
All four teams were told emphatically by Carolina, ‘We are not trading him, we do still think there’s a future here.'” If the Panthers return to losing and like the potential of a 2025 QB prospect such as Shedeur Sanders or Carson Beck—and the right offer comes along—they might change their stance.
The New York Jets could be interested in pursuing Young as a potential heir to the 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers. The Titans could also be interested in the 23-year-old as a long-term QB play if second-year man Will Levis continues to struggle,” Knox wrote.
The Panthers benched Young after a disappointing start to the season. Head Coach Dave Canales opted for veteran Andy Dalton following the quarterback’s struggles, which included a 2-15 record last season and poor performance in the first two games this year.
As the NFL season progresses, all eyes will be on Rodgers to see if he can channel his competitive spirit into a memorable comeback. If he fails to do so, the Jets may have to look at Young’s availability to see if he can be a viable replacement for the quarterback.
