New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has long made it known that he would like to play with his former Green Bay Packers teammate, Davante Adams. The three-time All-Pro wide receiver was traded by the Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders prior to the 2022 NFL season. When Rodgers found himself traded to the New York Jets last offseason, many wondered if the team would find a way to reunite the pair.
According to multiple reports, the Jets did indeed try to acquire Adams prior to the 2023 NFL trade deadline. Of course, no deal was completed, and he remained in Las Vegas.
Over the course of this offseason, there were even more rumors that Adams and Rodgers were trying to reunite on the Jets. Trade rumors involving the six-time Pro Bowler swirled, especially after footage of him expressing his displeasure with his situation aired on the Netflix documentary “Receiver.”
Once again, though, no trade occurred.

Rodgers was recently a guest on “Up and Adams” with host Kay Adams. During their interview, she asked him what he thought about the rumors of him possibly teaming up with his old top target.
“Oh, that’s just silly. It’s a silly question. I love Davante. I’d love to play with Davante again,” Rodgers said. “It might be in the 2028 Olympics, if they let some of the old guys play. But we’ll see.”
The 2028 Olympics, which will be played in Los Angeles, California (both Rodgers’ and Adams’ home state), is going to see flag football introduced as one of the sports for the first time in history.
The NFL, of course, has transitioned the Pro Bowl to include a flag football game instead of just a traditional competition.
Could New York Jets Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Team Up with Davante Adams in the 2028 Olympics?

It is not yet known how the rosters for flag football will be put together. As one can tell by the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Games take place during NFL training camp and preseason. One has to wonder if players would even be made available by teams. NBA stars, at least, compete in the Olympics during their league’s offseason.
One also has to wonder if NFL players would risk the slim risk of injury in a flag football game. Several players already have been lost for the year after suffering non-contact injuries during training camp.
As for Rodgers and Adams, well, the former will be nearly 45 years old and the latter 35. Rodgers may not even be in the NFL by that point in time.
That being said, LeBron James is competing in basketball at an extremely high level at the age of 40.
It will be interesting to see what happens.
