New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is currently participating in the American Century Championship at Lake Tahoe in Nevada. The celebrity golf tournament is currently being led by Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Theilen. The event also has notable current and former NFL players like Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce, Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, and Matt Ryan.
For the current NFL players, this event is the end of their summer as training camp begins for most teams in about a week. For Rodgers, who skipped the Jets’ mandatory minicamp after participating in the other voluntary OTA workouts, it is the end of a prolonged summer of both practice and rehab.
Before he teed off on Saturday, he spoke to reporters and gave a quick update on his Achilles and his absence from minicamp.

Rodgers, of course, missed all but four offensive snaps for the Jets before tearing his Achilles. The injury kept him out for the rest of the season while the team floundered to another 7-10 season.
Like last offseason, Rodgers was available and present at every voluntary workout that New York had. However, he was listed as absent unexcused for mandatory minicamp.
The days and weeks that have followed Rodgers’ absence have seen many discussions about whether or not he is truly as committed as he says he is.
Prior to teeing off at the American Century Championship, Rodgers spoke to reporters and seemed very excited to get back to work with his team:

It’s just about getting back into it. I felt good all spring, had a nice OTA’s, had a beautiful trip to Egypt, and this is like the last marker.
“Summer is over on Sunday. Walking up 18 is always super bittersweet, but it’s good to be out here.”

As seen above, Rodgers confirmed that the reason he skipped mandatory minicamp was to take a trip to Egypt. Undoubtedly, it was an amazing experience. However, conversation surrounding his leadership abilities and commitment to the team.
Rodgers and the Jets were always going to be one of the most-watched teams in the NFL this season due to the future Hall of Famer’s injury last year and his determination to take the Jets to the postseason for the first time since 2010.
If he does not, and if he has another down year, this could be his last season in New York.

Aaron Rogers is a loser. He places himself above team mates, opponents, coaches and managers. He was esteemed by the media. They adored him. I believe they are finally seeing the truth. He makes his own rules and does his own thing as if he’s better than everybody. I got news Aaron. You are NOT better than anybody. Once you get off the egotistical train, you will realize that. Time to retire. You’re old.
