The New York Jets have reached out to two teams for a QB
The New York Jets aren’t messing around in trying to be aggressive for their 2023 plans. Head coach Robert Saleh has been persistent about improving the offense–specifically the quarterback position. According to a new report, the Jets have reached out to two teams for a quarterback trade.

The Jets have made offseason coaching hires that could help them land Aaron Rodgers or Derek Carr. They hired former Packers assistant Nathaniel Hackett as their offensive coordinator and former Tennessee Titans assistant Todd Downing as their passing game coordinator. Downing has ties to Carr and Ryan Tannehill.
Reports came out over the weekend the Jets reached out to the Green Bay Packers about a potential Rodgers trade. According to Albert Breer with Sports Illustrated, the Jets inquired about trading for Carr with the Las Vegas Raiders:
“So my guess is the Raiders will cut Carr, maybe Monday, maybe Tuesday, and the Saints and Jets (the only other team to inquire with the Raiders on him) will look into signing him later in the week.”

It’ll be interesting to see if the New York Jets sign Carr or if they are willing to give up more draft capital and salary for a four-time MVP and Super Bowl winner like Rodgers. Since Carr was released, the Jets will have to give up less to sign in the open market. Rodgers won’t come cheap. But getting the best quarterback seems like the top priority in New York.
