The New York Jets could very well be moving off of Aaron Rodgers at quarterback this offseason. The Jets have missed the playoffs for the last two seasons and had a 5-12 record this past season.

New York fired Joe Douglas as general manager and Robert Saleh as head coach during the season. The New York Jets are looking to make some moves before the start of next season. One quarterback that they could trade for this awesome is Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins.
ESPN’s Rich Cimini Thinks That the New York Jets Starting Quarterback In 2025 Will Be Kirk Cousins

The New York Jets will no doubt need to find a starting quarterback for the 2025 season if Aaron Rodgers is not on the roster next year. The Jets could decide to keep Tyrod Taylor on the roster and have him start. However, ESPN’s Rich Cimini thinks that Kirk Cousins could be an option for the Jets next year.
UStadium mentioned on their Twitter page:
“ESPN’s
’s early prediction for the Jets starting QB in 2025: Kirk Cousins. Cimini says Cousins fits what the team is going for as a “team first” guy and will come cheap. If/when released, the Falcons would owe Kirk $27M and he could sign with the Jets for about $1.2M.”
The thing is will the Atlanta Falcons release Kirk Cousins or trade him to another team? Michael Penix Jr. will be the starting quarterback for Atlanta next season. He took over the starting job over the final couple of weeks of the regular season and it was not an easy decision that head coach Raheem Morris made.
Last season with the Falcons, Cousins completed 66.9% of his passes for 3,508 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. He is 36 years old. Would the New York Jets want to have another old injured quarterback being the starting quarterback next season? The Jets need to make some decisions this offseason.
Fans React

This is a hard no. Either stick with Tyron Taylor and a drafted QB or go after Jameis Winston. Let’s not bring in another old and injured QB and hope for the best. Been there, done that

Fantastic take a QB that’s towards end of his career that’s coming off an Achilles injury. Wait.. didn’t we have one like that? Not saying this is false Cimini is on point mostly. But this would be a horror show for fans to endure. While the falcons develop their young QB.

Give me Jameis over Cousins any day of the week

JETS asked Rodgers if he wants to comeback: considering 3rd head coach, another new offensive co-ordinator and he probably had some questions about it.
His teammates love him so there is no silly team first issue. They asked him about HIS interest.

There are a lot of New York Jets fans who do not want to sign Kirk Cousins for next season if he were to be released by the Atlanta Falcons. Cousins needs to go to a team that has a better offensive line and weapons and the Jets are not one of those teams.
