New York Jets: Things could not have gone any worse for Aaron Rodgers in his debut. There was a lot of hype surrounding the four-time All-Pro quarterback’s first game for his new team as New York took on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills to open their season.
Unfortunately, Rodgers had to be carted off the field after just three snaps after sustaining a scary-looking injury.
New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers Has Ruptured Achilles
Jets head coach Robert Saleh was able to provide an update on Rodgers’ injury after New York escaped with a 22-16 win over the Bills in overtime. Unfortunately, the news on A-Rod is not good at all.
Saleh revealed that Aaron Rodgers ruptured his Achilles, which in most cases, would be a season-ending injury. Multiple news outlets have already indicated that this could indeed be a worst-case scenario for the four-time league MVP:

To be clear, New York has yet to confirm if their new star quarterback is going to be sidelined for the rest of the season. However, we should expect an official statement from them soon. At this point, Jets fans should probably brace themselves for the worst.
This would be an undeniably tough blow for New York, who obviously had some extremely high hopes with Rodgers at the forefront. If he is indeed done for the year, they will need to turn to third-year quarterback Zach Wilson, who hasn’t exactly been able to live up to the lofty expectations many had on him when he went second overall during the 2021 NFL Draft. The Jets could also opt to take a different route by signing a new quarterback from the free-agent market.
It goes without saying that it has been a catastrophic Week 1 for the New York Jets. They may have scraped out a win against the Bills, but the truth is, this is the last thing on the minds of the New York faithful right now.
