Not everyone was on board with the New York Jets deciding to move from enigmatic quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
It’s hard to argue that Rodgers didn’t underachieve during his time in a Jets uniform, with New York winning just six of his 18 starts as the 41-year-old completed 62.9 percent of his passes for 3,897 yards with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Aaron Glenn Addresses New York Jets’ Aaron Rodgers Fallout

New Jets head coach Aaron Glenn revealed on the first day of the NFL Combine that the decision to move on from Rodgers caused some fallout among the players.
“I understand the reaction of the players,” Glenn told reporters Tuesday in Indianapolis. “But I’ll say this: Every decision that me and [general manager Darren Mougey] make is to win and to win now.
“So, I understand it, but again: Listen, this is not going to be the last decision I make that’s going to upset some people, and that’s OK. But as men, we talk about it. We make sure we keep it in-house, and that’s what we’re going to continue to do.”
The Jets are turning the page, but face some uncertainty at quarterback following Rodgers’ departure, and it will be incumbent on Glenn to instill a winning culture and get the players on board with the team’s new direction.
“I don’t want to disrespect any of the players we have on our team, and it kind of pisses me off and some of the other players that that’s what we all talk about,” Glenn said. “You have Quinnen Williams, you have Quincy Williams, you have an AVT [Alijah Vera-Tucker] and now you have Joe Tippmann. All those guys need to be respected as far as winning games also.”
Glenn and the Jets are moving on from Rodgers, and in time, the locker room is going to need to, as well.
