The New York Giants aim for a more consistent rushing attack in 2025, which could help their offense grow substantially. While the team finished 23rd in rushing yards and tied for 20th in rushing touchdowns in 2024, they should feel optimistic about the direction and the potential of the running back position. The Giants’ fifth-round pick exploded onto the scene in the middle of his rookie season and could become the long-term solution.
New York Giants’ Day 3 pick had a great rookie season

After a minimal role on offense and backing up Devin Singletary Jr. in the first four games, Tyrone Tracy Jr. took over as the starting running back in Week 5. He played well, rushing for 810 yards on 180 carries and five touchdowns in the last 13 games, and at that pace, he would have finished with 1,059 yards on 235 carries and seven touchdowns in 17 games. Tracy ended with 839 yards on 192 carries and five touchdowns, plus 38 receptions for 284 yards and one touchdown in 17 games and 12 starts.
Now that the Day 3 steal will have a full season as the starting running back, he has set lofty goals for Year 2.
New York Giants’ top back has lofty goals for 2025

During an appearance on Good Morning Football on Friday, Tyrone Tracy Jr. was asked about his goals for the 2025 season. The promising running back wants to “dominate” and multiply his rushing total from last year. Tracy is shooting for the 1,500 to 1,600 rushing yards mark.
“Dominate,” Tracy said, via Nick Shook of NFL.com. “I think that the best thing that I can do is dominate where I was last year and then, shoot, try to multiply that this year. Last year, I had 800 (rushing yards). This year, I need to go for (1,500 yards). … Wherever I was last year was last year. It don’t matter. It’s a new year.”
