The New York Giants will release a wide receiver
The New York Giants have a busy offseason to consider how they want to structure their offense for 2023. The Giants are in discussions with quarterback Daniel Jones on a long-term contract. How those talks go could decide what the team does with running back Saquon Barkley, who could hit free agency if the Giants have to apply the franchise tag to Jones. The team now plans to release a wide receiver which will help their cap situation.

According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, the Giants plan to release Kenny Golladay on March 15th, the start of the league’s new year. The move will save the Giants $6.7 against their cap.

According to Over The Cap, the Giants have about $46 million in free cap space this offseason. That’s a million more than what Jones wants to be paid per season.

Golladay didn’t have a great season for the Giants. He finished with 81 yards receiving and one touchdown. The 2019 Pro Bowl wide receiver was widely criticized for his play last season.
