The New York Giants had a disaster in Week One when the Minnesota Vikings came in and beat them 28-6. Quarterback Daniel Jones kept throwing the ball to players in the purple helmet, throwing two interceptions, making it a rough day for the former first-round pick.
The Giants shocked everyone two years ago when they made the playoffs in Brian Daboll’s first year as the head coach, and since then, everything has gone downhill.
If the 2024 season goes the same way 2023 went for the Giants, then there is a good chance that the 49-year-old head coach will be fired.
Daboll has proven that he can take the team to the playoffs, but if things get out of hand, he may be unable to keep his job.
If the Giants do make a change this offseason, they could see a familiar face who used to walk the sidelines.
The New York Giants Could Be Looking At Bill Belichick
Former six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach Bill Belichick was let go from his job with the New England Patriots this offseason and didn’t find a job during this cycle.
Belichick was an assistant for the New York Giants from 1979 to 1990 under Ray Perkins and Bill Parcells before leaving to take the Cleveland Browns head coaching job.
Big Time Boston sports fan and media personality Bill Simmons posted on his social media account after the Giants’ loss on Sunday with a clip from his podcast discussing how bad the game was. The caption on the post was, ” Last night, we officially put the Giants on Belichick Watch.”

It will be interesting to see what the Giants do with the head coaching position this offseason if things continue to get worse. Knowing the New York Giants, they would probably try to make a splash with Belichick.
The only question is whether Bill Belichick will want to take the job, knowing the team is not close to winning. He will be 73 years old next spring, so he needs a job that he can win now.
The Dallas Cowboys are probably still the favorite to land Belichick if they make a coaching change this offseason since Dallas has a great team and can win at the moment, but seeing him back with the New York Giants to finish his career would be awesome.
