The New York Giants will have many critical decisions to make this offseason. The Giants need to find a new franchise quarterback for the long haul.
New York will have the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. There are a lot of directions that the New York Giants could head in this offseason. Another position that could need upgrading this offseason is the offensive line.
New York Giants Could Cut Jermaine Eluemunor This Offseason
The Giants last offseason signed Jermaine Eluemunor to a contract in free agency. This offseason, there is a chance that they could release him because of cap space. The Bleacher Report Scouting Department listed three New York Giants players as cap causalities this offseason and one of those players could be Eluemunor. They said:
“Unfortunately, making this move would require faith in Evan Neal. That’s not a proposition that has paid off for the Giants thus far. If Neal were to demonstrate that he’s going to be able to get his career on track, then New York could release veteran tackle
Jermaine Eluemunor and clear $6.4 million in cap space.
As it stands, this probably wouldn’t be a wise move. Unless the Giants feel that money could go toward finding an even better right tackle they are better off keeping Eluemunor. The veteran was a solid starter at right tackle, and that’s not always easy to find.”
There is no chance that the New York Giants will release him. It would be a major surprise. If anything, they would trade Evan Neal or move him to guard. The Giants fanbase has already been frustrated with general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll.
Jermaine Eluemunor was one of the reasons why the Giants offensive line improved this season even in a dark season for the franchise. He hopes to be part of a better football team next season. The New York Giants need more talented players on the roster and they don’t need to be getting rid of there best offensive lineman.
