The New York Giants will look to have a different outcome for the 2024 NFL season. Last year, they finished with a 6-11 record and missed the playoffs. New York the previous season finished with a 9-7-1 record. The Giants were a wild-card team in the NFC. In 2022, they defeated the Minnesota Vikings in the wild-card round but lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Divisional Round.
New York made some changes this offseason. They did keep Mike Kafka on staff to be the offensive coordinator, but head coach Brian Daboll will be calling the plays this season. Wink Martindale is no longer the Giants’ defensive coordinator. Shane Bown will be the defensive coordinator after being the Tennessee Titans’ defensive coordinator.
The New York Giants will have talent on the roster this season. The NFC however, could be one of the weakest divisions in all of football.
Maurice Moton Of Bleacher Report Predicts That the New York Giants Will Finish In Last Place In the NFC East
Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report predicted each record for each NFL team entering the 2024 NFL season. For the New York Giants, he has them finishing with a 4-13 record this season. Moton said:
“The Giants will give Daniel Jones another shot to prove he’s their franchise quarterback. Since his rookie year, Jones hasn’t done enough to make anyone, other than the executives in Big Blue’s front office, believe that he could be the guy in New York. Without Saquon Barkley, the Giants will rely on rookie wideout Malik Nabers to provide an offensive spark. Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence II will be a nightmare for offenses, but Big Blue will struggle to score in most games.”
The offense could be inept once again this season if Daniel Jones struggles to produce. Drew Lock or Tommy DeVito will be the backup quarterback this season. If the Giants are bad, there is no doubt that they will draft Carson Beck from Georgia or Sheuder Sanders from Colorado in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The New York Giants have a talented wide receiver group this season with Jalin Hyatt, Darius Slayton, Malik Nabers, and Wan’Dale Robinson. The Giants losing running back Saquon Barkley could hurt them. However, if the offensive line does not perform this season, it will not matter once again.
It is crazy that Bleacher Report thinks that the Washington Commanders will finish with an 8-9 record and in third place in the division. It is one thing for the New York Giants to finish behind the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys, but they are better than the Washington Commanders.
