The New York Giants will have a running back room that will have a lot of questions entering the 2024 season. Saquon Barkley is no longer with the team after he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in NFL free agency.

Entering training camp, the New York Giants running back battle will be between Tyrone Tracy Jr., Devin Singletary, and Eric Gray. Some think that the Giants could have one of the worst running back rooms in the NFL this season.

New York finished last season with a 6-11 record. They hope things will be better in 2024 than they were in 2023.

CBS Sports Thinks That the New York Giants Rookie Running Back Tyrone Tracy Jr. Will Be One of the Most Productive Rookie Running Backs in 2024

At the moment, Giants rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. is third on the depth chart. He is behind Devin Singletary and Eric Gray. CBS Sports Chris Trapasso thinks that the New York Giants rookie running back will be one of the most productive running backs this season as a rookie.

He is ranked fourth on this CBS list. Trapasso said:

“In 2021, Tracy was a middling wideout at Iowa. Now he’s an exciting Day 3 selection at the running back spot on a Giants team that has Devin Singletary as it’s lead runner entering the 2024 campaign. Don’t get me wrong with that sentence — I love Singletary. He was my RB1 in the 2019 class and has quietly averaged 4.6 yards per carry in his NFL career to date with at least 150 rushes in all of his first five professional seasons.

But I understand he’s not a true feature back at this stage of his career, although he is fresh off a 216 carry season in Houston in 2023. Tracy has the dynamic linear athleticism Singletary does not, as evidenced by his 4.48 speed and 40-inch vertical at the combine in March. In fact, Tracy’s dynamic physical talent and Singletary’s lateral brilliance will make for a fun running-back tandem in the GMen’s backfield *if* the Giants can actually block for their ground game.”

Tracy last season in 11 games with the Purdue Boilermakers rushed for 716 yards on 113 carries and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 6.3 yards per carry. He also caught 19 passes for 132 yards receiving and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 6.9 yards per catch. It will be interesting to see what the rookie tailback could do for the New York Giants once training camp comes.

This is a surprising prediction that he will be productive during his rookie season. The New York Giants rookie tailback is ranked ahead of Green Bay Packers running back Marshawn Lloyd.
