New York Giants quarterback Drew Lock has not performed well all season long when he was on the field for them. On Sunday afternoon before the game started, many Giants fans thought he was going to pull off another dud.
However, Lock may have played the game of his life by completing 17-of-23 passes for 309 yards and four touchdowns and also a rushing touchdown in a 45-33 win for the Giants over the Colts. With the win, New York improved to 3-13 on the season and Indianapolis dropped to 7-9 and were eliminated from playoff contention.
New York Giants Quarterback Drew Lock Makes Tone-Deaf Statement After the Game Against the Indianapolis Colts
After the game was over, Lock spoke to the media. He was signed in the off-season to be Daniel Jones’s backup, but Drew Lock has started a couple of games for the Giants ever since releasing Jones. Lock told the media after the game:
“The fans deserved it, the locker room deserved it, everyone that is a part of this organization deserved it. We knew we had it in us.”
He is not wrong about the locker room deserving that win because they lost 10 straight games before winning on Sunday afternoon. What made Giants fans upset is that he mentioned the fans deserved it. There weren’t a lot of fans in the stands and many fans wanted the team to lose to get a better draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Fans React To His Statement
Does he remember the team lying to him about being QB2?

No one should expect a competitor to dishonor the sport they love. Players play to win.

Very important you pick first. The only reason the Bears are better than the Commanders is they got Caleb Williams instead of Jayden Daniels……hang on….

Nope, always play to win and never tank. It creates a horrible team culture that will result in more losing seasons. Good for them for getting a win playing the game they love

For everyone saying that Ward will fall to the Giants…doesn’t understand that Ward is the clear cut #1 QB. Someone will move up ahead of them and select Ward. Giants will end up with a below average QB and set the organization back another 5 years.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the 2025 NFL Draft order after Week 18 of the 2024 NFL season. There is still some hope for the New York Giants to get the top pick in the draft. They will need to lose against the Philadelphia Eagles and other things to happen. If they miss out on a quarterback, there is a great chance that Drew Lock just set the franchise back another 5-10 seasons.
