The New York Giants have been the center of attention for the last few weeks. That is because their team has been the focus of the “Hard Knocks: Offseason” spinoff series. As a result, players like QB Daniel Jones have gained more notoriety around the league.
Jones has created some controversy considering his $160 million contract and his health last season. This morning, we received a big update on his health status heading into training camp. Read below to find out what that update is.
Daniel Jones Cleared for 11-on-11 Drills

According to Dan Salomone of Giants.com, Daniel Jones has been cleared for 11-on-11 drills. This comes on the Giants’ first day of training camp. Here is what Giants head coach Brian Daboll had to say about the subject:
“He’s getting all the reps with the ones.” -Brian Daboll
Daniel Jones’ Health Problems

It is no secret that Jones dealt with multiple injuries last season. First, he suffered a neck injury that kept him out for three weeks last season. Then, he suffered a torn ACL in Week 10 that kept him out for the rest of the season.
Unfortunately, Jones’ production when he was on the field left little to be desired. For starters, he threw six interceptions in six games last season. Jones also threw just two touchdown passes and a 1-5 record.
New York Giants Quarterback Competition

Right now, Daniel Jones is slated to be the starting quarterback for the New York Giants in 2024. With that said, he does have some competition from both of his backup quarterbacks if he fails to step up.
One of those quarterbacks is Drew Lock. Last year, he played for the Seattle Seahawks. However, the Giants managed to sign him via free agency after losing Tyrod Taylor to the New York Jets.
Then, there is second-year quarterback Tommy Devito. He took the league by storm due to embracing his Italian heritage and performing surprisingly well for the Giants last season. Devito even related to local fans by choosing to live with his parents until he had more financial security in the NFL.
However, not everyone is happy about the current quarterback room for the Giants. On last week’s Hard Knocks episode, Giants head coach Brian Daboll revealed his disgust for the team’s current quarterback situation. Now, we will have to see if one of these quarterbacks can surprise him in 2024.
