The New York Giants’ first training camp practice will begin on Wednesday. There will be a lot of things that this Giants fanbase will want to see during training camp. They will want to see how Daniel Jones moves after dealing with a Torn ACL last season. Jones is in line to be the Week 1 start for the Giants.
They want to see rookie sensation wide receiver Malik Nabers. He could very well be everything as advertised. Nabers was the sixth pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. Nabers has a chance to do some damage during his rookie season.
Another thing the Giants fanbase will want to see how is the new offensive line. Bobby Johnson is no longer the offensive line coach and Camren Bricillo is the new offensive line coach. The New York Giants gave up the most sacks in the NFL a season ago. It can only go up from here for them.
Pro Football Network Analyst Nick Faria Thinks That New York Giants Offensive Lineman Evan Neal Needs a Change Of Scenery
Pro Football Network Analyst Nick Faria predicted one player for each NFL team who should need a change of scenery moving forward. The one player he thinks needs a change of scenery on the New York Giants is right tackle Evan Neal.
They signed Jermaine Eluemunor during the offseason to either play left guard or right tackle. The Giants are also giving Greg Van Roten a look on the offensive line. He started all 17 games last season for the Las Vegas Raiders and is very familiar with New York Giants offensive line coach Camren Bricillo.
Faria said about Neal needing a fresh start:
“Are we sure the Giants’ Joe Schoen is a good general manager? His selection of Evan Neal hasn’t just been a bad pick, it’s completely caused a reshuffle of resources for the team over the last few years. It doesn’t look like New York trusts Neal to produce at a high level this season, so a change of scenery could definitely be in order.”
Neal was the seventh overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Alabama. He was one of the top offensive lineman prospects at the time, but who knows what happened with him between college and the pros? Evan Neal has not performed well and it appears as if he has a very short leash this season.
For now, he is projected to be the starting right tackle. Evan Neal also had ankle injury issues a season ago. We will see if he shows up at all and performs during training camp. If Neal does not improve, he will ride the bench and potentially be traded.
