New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers has not only been lighting up his team in practice, but he has been lighting up the Detroit Lions during joint practices this past Monday and also on Tuesday as well. Nabers was the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of LSU.
Nabers has potentially been the missing piece in the Giants’ offense for years. Some fans wanted them to draft a quarterback, but New York was missing a true number-one wide receiver in this offense. They have not had a game-breaker like this in the offense since Odell Beckham Jr. Malik Nabers is going to be the number-one receiving option for Daniel Jones this season.
Some think that Nabers will be better than Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., but time will tell. Malik Nabers will look to go over 1,000 yards receiving in his rookie season with the Giants and it has felt like an eternity since that has happened for New York.
NFL Analyst Adam Schefter Makes a Prediction About New York Giants Wide Receiver Malik Nabers
ESPN’s Adam Schefter went on NFL Live on Monday. He was talking about the Giants’ stud wide receiver. Schefter said about him:
“has looked like a candidate for the Offensive Rookie of the Year.”
It will be interesting to see who will be the Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate in 2024. There will be other potential candidates for this award. Two players that will no doubt challenge Nabers for the award will be Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.
Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud won the award last season. Stroud helped Houston win the AFC South division. Because of C.J. Stroud, many people will view the Houston Texans as a Super Bowl Contender for the 2024 season.
As for Nabers in the Giants offense, he will be the top option on the depth chart. Wan’Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt will also be catching passes this season from Daniel Jones. Darius Slayton is another wide receiver who will make an impact on this offense.
Could Nabers go over 1,000 yards during his rookie season? It remains to be seen, but he is going to turn heads against other defenses this season. Malik Nabers could very well be a finalist for the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award for the 2024 season with the Giants.
