The New York Giants will once again be without one of the offense’s most dynamic weapons, and Daniel Jones’ most prolific playmaker.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll revealed Friday that rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers will once again be OUT for Sunday’s game, missing his second consecutive contest since suffering a concussion during a Week 4 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Nabers had previously been off to one of the most explosive starts by a rookie wide receiver in recent memory, catching 35 passes for 386 yards and three touchdowns.
How New York Giants Must Replace Malik Nabers’ Production
Unfortunately, though, for Nabers and the Giants, the No. 6 overall pick has yet to clear the concussion protocol so he will be out against Cincinnati after being reduced to being a spectator for New York’s stunning Week 5 upset of the Seattle Seahawks.
In Nabers’ place last Sunday, five different wide receivers caught passes from Jones, including veteran Darius Slayton pacing the offense with eight catches for 122 yards and a touchdown.
Against the Bengals, look for the Giants once again to rely heavily on Slayton, and Wan’Dale Robinson to pick up some of the slack in the passing game, against the league’s 15th-ranked passing defense.
