The New York Giants are 2-11 this season in the NFL. They have a chance to get the number one pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see what the Giants would do if they had the number one overall pick. For now, the Las Vegas Raiders will own the number-one pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
One of the biggest needs for the New York Giants in the 2025 NFL Draft will be finding its next franchise quarterback. They released Daniel Jones earlier this season and Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito are not the answer for the long-term for this franchise.
Thedraftnetwork.com Thinks the New York Giants Will Select Colorado Buffaloes Wide Receiver/Cornerback Travis Hunter Second Overall In the 2025 NFL Draft
Daniel Harms of thedraftnetwork.com thinks that the Giants will select wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter with the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. This would be a shocking selection for the New York Giants. Harms said of this selection:
“Travis Hunter is the best player in the draft and the Giants have a lot of holes to fill. Whether playing corner or wide receiver, Hunter will be tough to pass up for the Giants, even with their need at QB.”
It would feel malpractice for the New York Giants organization to pass up on Cam Ward from Miami with the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The only way they would select Hunter in this situation is if the Giants signed Justin Fields, Jameis Winston, or Sam Darnold in the offseason.
Others, it would be malpractice for the Giants to have no one to throw the football to either Travis Hunter or Malik Nabers. Hunter this season with Colorado caught 92 passes for 1,152 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns, along with averaging 12.5 yards per reception.
Nabers and Hunter would be one of the top wide receiver duos in the league. Also, would Travis Hunter play cornerback for the New York Giants which is also a weakness on this football team? It remains to be seen what they would do.
Scouting Quarterbacks
It will be interesting to see whether or not Joe Schoen will be back next season as the general manager, but one thing he has done this year is heavily scout Shedeur Sanders of the Colorado Buffaloes and Cam Ward of the Miami Hurricanes. If the Giants get the number one pick, they would not draft Hunter and they would go with Sanders instead.
