New York Giants legendary linebacker Lawrence Taylor was known for having a hard head for the football field, but he has an open mind when it comes to politics. Taylor changed his political leanings ahead of the 2024 election.

Taylor isn’t the only former NFL athlete to change their political leanings in recent years. Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw used to be a Republican. He switched to being an independent, per an article that came out in 2020.

While Bradshaw took one voter away from the Republican party, Taylor added one former NFL player to their numbers. Taylor recently switched his affiliation from the Democrat party to the Republican party.
“I just want to say I grew up a Democrat and I’ve always been a Democrat until I met this man right here. I tell you what, he will not have to worry about, nobody in my family will ever vote Democrat again,” Taylor said at a Donald Trump rally in May.
