The New York Giants defensive line has been very effective throughout the first five weeks of the season because of Kayvon Thibodeaux and others. Even though the Giants are 2-3 the defense is getting a pass rush.
This season, he has recorded 12 tackles and has recorded two sacks. Thibodeaux is one of the core players on this Giants’ defense.
Kayvon Thibodeaux Of the New York Giants Out With An Injury
According to a source who told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Thibodeaux suffered a fractured scaphoid bone in his wrist and had surgery to repair it today. Head coach Brian Daboll described the injury as a week-to-week situation. The odds are that the New York Giants star will not play against the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend at home.
He could return the following week against the Philadelphia Eagles. It will be interesting to see how this injury affects the Giants in the short term. Thibodeaux is currently in his third NFL season out of Oregon.
Fans Are Devastated
6-12 weeks potentially 3 months. This isn’t good at all.

Wrist & hand surgery recovery times can be pretty variable but would expect an IR stint for Thibodeaux
Azeez Ojulari has filled in nicely so far this season but a big loss for this Giants defense that leads the NFL in sacks 👎

huge blow for the giants

Azeez Ojulari is going to fill in for Thibodeaux most likely and that is a major drop-off for the Giants. Ojulari will be playing on the other side of Brian Burns at the outside linebacker position. This is bad news for the Giants, but defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence will just have to elevate his game even more.
