After giving up on Daniel Jones and winning just three games in the 2024 NFL season, the New York Giants decided to try a veteran to run the offense from under center.
Signing Russell Wilson to a one-year contract that’s worth $10.5 million is not the blanket solution to all the on-field ills of the franchise, but the Giants are counting on the Super Bowl-winning quarterback to help them have a much more respectable season in 2025, as they try to build momentum again and prevent being among the laughintstock in the league.
While already past his prime, the 36-year-old Wilson proved that there’s still some gas left in the tank in 2024, when he earned a Pro Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers, while passing for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns against only five interceptions through 11 games.
Fans react to New York Giants’ photos of Wilson

On Monday, the Giants shared three photos of Wilson posing in New York threads.
“New York Russ,” the post read along with an emoji of the Statue of Liberty.

Some still need some time to get used to seeing the 10-time Pro Bowler in blue Giants threads but that’s now the reality, as the former Wisconsin Badgers star signal-caller looks to prove that he can still put a franchise on his back and carry them to the NFL playoffs.
Here are some of the reactions to the post from fans online:
“He looks good in BLUE!! 💙🙌🏾”
“Blue looks good🔥”
“Welcome to the team Gang 🤝🏾🤝🏾🤝🏾”
“Giants Country Let’s Ride In 2025😎😎🏈🏈💯💯🔥🔥”
“13 win season here we come ‼️”
“Broncos nation let’s ride, Steelers nation let’s ride, Giants nation let’s ride 😂”
