The New York Giants have had a hard time trying to replace Eli Manning ever since he retired from the NFL. Daniel Jones, Tyrod Taylor, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito have been some of the starting quarterbacks for this franchise since Manning left.
There is a great chance that Eli Manning will be a first Ballot Hall of Famer in 2025. He hopes that this organization can turn it around soon after finishing the 2024 season with a 3-14 record. The Giants will have the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
New York Giants Former Quarterback Eli Manning Approves Of Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll For Another Season
In the past, the Giants used to be under the spotlight when Eli Manning was the quarterback and when the team was struggling under head coach Tom Coughlin. When they were struggling, some people thought Coughlin was on the hot seat and he was able to ride the ship and win a couple of Super Bowl titles out of it.
New York has not had success since Coughlin left the Giants. Eli Manning said on CNBC about the Giants deciding to keep head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen for a fourth NFL season:
“You gotta create some sort of continuity and keep things the same, build that culture. And that just takes time. You can’t necessarily do it in two years or three years. They got off to a great start, making the playoffs in Year One, but now they’re in a situation.
They gotta go find a quarterback, they gotta get a couple of new spots in key positions, and again, they’re not far. They have some playmakers that have the superstars on the team, and it’s just about getting everybody to buy in and to work together, and finding ways to win some of these tight games.
And I think it’s the right move by keeping these guys there. Let them bring in their guys, let them create their style, create their culture. And I think they have the ability to do that.”
There is no doubt that one of the top priorities for the New York Giants in the 2025 NFL Draft will be to draft a quarterback. The Cleveland Browns and the Tennessee Titans could also very well draft a quarterback. General manager Joe Schoen has been scouting Shedeur Sanders of the Colorado Buffaloes and Cam Ward of the Miami Hurricanes often during the college football season.
It will be interesting to see if head coach Brian Daboll is finally able to mold his own quarterback for the long haul. There have also been some questions about Joe Schoen, but some stability is what the Giants organization has been missing.

He’s paid by the Giants

I love Eli, but he was all about Daniel Jones being the answer until Jones was making that ridiculous speech before he was cut. Eli is a company man.

Nothing else for us fans to do. It is what it is. Hope is all we have. Now if we all gave up our season tickets and ate the PSLs woody and John saddled us with that would be a different story! Who’s with me! No more waiting lists for tickets fyi

Eli everyone knows they need a quarterback, you, Mara, Schoen and Coach Daboll, the fans, I’m waiting to see what they do to solve that. There can’t be any improvement without a real quarterback starting and I’m willing to give them a chance to get one

Even if the continuity is a losing culture? Bad gm decisions, bad coaching, bad playcalling?

Getting a new quarterback is what will install some hope into the New York Giants fanbase. If they get Sanders or Ward, a lot of fans will get excited about that potential connection with wide receiver Malik Nabers. If it is someone else, it could get intriguing to see how the fanbase will react.
