The New York Giants are entering the upcoming 2024 NFL season with a major question mark. Can Daniel Jones end up being the starting quarterback that the team paid him to be?
After locking him up to a massive four-year, $160 million deal, Jones fell flat in 2023. He only played in six games due to a torn ACL, but he did not look great in the games he did play.
While many expected the New York Giants to bring in a new quarterback during the NFL offseason, they chose not to. They decided to run it back for one more year with Jones under center.
Now, Jones has made a shocking list ahead of the upcoming season.
New York Giants QB Daniel Jones Makes Shocking List for 2024 Season
Leading up to the 2024 NFL season, Jones has made an intriguing list.
Pro Football Focus has listed Jones as a sleeper quarterback for Fantasy Football purposes. Of course, that means that he is a sleeper quarterback to have a good season in real life as well.
During the six games he played last season, Jones completed 67.5 percent of his pass attempts for 909 yards, two touchdowns, and six interceptions. Those numbers aren’t going to get the job done.
Back in 2022, he had a much better season. In 16 games, Jones completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 3,205 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also picked up 708 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.
Hopefully, this list ends up being reality. The franchise still is clearly holding out hope that Jones can turn his career back around.
If he can do so, the New York Giants will have a chance to compete. Jones is the biggest X-Factor for the team in 2024. He’ll also be playing for his future as a starting quarterback in the NFL.
All of that being said, the stage has been set for a make-or-break season for Jones. If he can play well, he might stick around as the Giants’ starter. Should he struggle again, he’ll likely be on his way out of town.
