The New York Giants decided to roll the dice on quarterback Daniel Jones for another season. This is the sixth NFL season for Jones. Before the season began, the Giants tried to draft a quarterback to replace Jones, but they decided not to.
The former Duke Blue Devils quarterback completed 22-of-42 passes for 186 yards and two interceptions. He threw an interception when a pass was intended for Darius Slayton. Jones threw the pass into triple coverage. As for the other interception, he tried to throw a screen pass to Wan’Dale Robinson, but Andrew Van Ginkle picked off Jones and returned it for a 10-yard touchdown.
New York Giants Fans Left the Stadium After the Daniel Jones Pick Six and Brian Daboll Responds After the Game
After the Giants threw that pick-six, they trailed 28-6 in the third quarter and fans immediately headed for the exits. The fanbase is sick and tired of Daniel Jones being the starting quarterback for the New York Giants. Ever since he got his new four-year $160 million deal, he has thrown for more pick-sixes with three than touchdown passes with two.
After the game was over head coach Brian Daboll was asked if benching Jones for Drew Lock ever crossed his mind. Daboll said to the media:
“No.”
If Daboll does not bench Jones for his poor play soon and it will happen, Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen will probably be fired.
Fans Want Drew Lock To Start
The Giants brought in Drew Lock as a free agent this offseason. He can not be much worse than Daniel Jones at this point for New York. The fans are already over Jones:
I WANT DANIEL JONES GONE. I AM TIRED OF THIS MOTHERFUCKER.

Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen put their job on the line basically telling everyone in the NFL they are wrong about Daniel Jones and he is going to show them why they believe in him.
One year later it was clear they fucked up and had a chance to pivot. They explored that…

If you’re still defending Daniel jones you’re not a giants fan. There’s no way you can watch him play football and say he has even a CHANCE to be average. This is pathetic man.

There is no way that Jones will be the starting quarterback for the Giants for the enter season. It feels like he should be on a short leash in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders. If New York does not score a touchdown in the first half against Washington, it is time to end the Daniel Jones era and play either Drew Lock or Tommy DeVito for the rest of the season.
If Jones plays the entire season, there is a great chance that the Giants finish 0-17 this season. The 2025 NFL Draft can’t come soon enough for this fanbase to find their next franchise quarterback whether that is Carson Beck from Georgia or someone else.
