New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo has a lot of learning to do in the NFL, and that includes familiarizing himself with the who’s who of the past in the league.
The former Arizona State Sun Devils star tailback has gone viral over a video shared on social media that shows him struggling to identify some well-known NFL figures.
During a recent appearance on the “The St. Brown Podcast” with Detroit Lions star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, Skattebo was shown pictures of unnamed players, including former Lions star wideout Calvin Johnson. Also known as “Megatron,” Johnson is considered one of the best to ever play the position in NFL history, but even that kind of extreme adulation did not seem enough for Skattebo to recognize him. Although he named some of the players, he was not able to do so on his own, as he needed Brown to clue him into the right answers.
Other former players that Skattebo struggled to identify were Brett Favre, Golden Tate, Marques Colston, Kam Chancellor and Darren Sproles.

The unforgiving folks on the internet are not giving Skattebo a pass, even though he’s just 23 years old. Here are some of the reactions to the video:
“Me does not know ball. Also, He think Golden Tate and Megatron look the same???”
“Calling it right now. This man will absolutely be a bust”
“yeah he gonna be awful”
“And we are supposed to like this guy? This is the worst thing I’ve ever watched!”
“What was he born yesterday?”
“Perfect representation of the New York Giants after Eli”
Skattebo can still won the hearts of those fans if he could deliver the goods on the field. He was taken in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL draft by the Giants, who also have Tyrone Tracy Jr., Devin Singletary and Eric Gay in the RB room.
