The New York Knicks appear to have gained a new fan in New York Giants rookie linebacker Abdul Carter. The former Penn State Nittany Lions star saw the Knicks pull off one of the most incredible wins in the 2025 NBA Playoffs on Monday night.
Despite being down by as many as 20 points in Game 1 of their second-round series against the defending NBA champions Boston Celtics, the Knicks clawed their way back to score a 108-105 overtime win over Jayson Tatum and company.
After the game, Carter shared the following post on X (formerly Twitter): “I think I’m turning into a Knicks fan🙈That game had me hype!! LFG New York!”
Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby led the way for the Knicks, as each scored 29 points. Meanwhile, Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart had 14 points apiece. Mikal Bridges generated only eight points but had key plays, including the game-saving steal on Jaylen Brown in overtime that virtually sealed the win for New York.
New York Giants’ Carter can find inspiration in the Knicks

The Knicks are enjoying a rejuvenation of the franchise, having reached the playoffs in three seasons in a row.
The Giants also look to have that kind of turnaround, with Carter among those the team is expecting to help it recover from a 3-14 finish in 2024.
The NFC East franchise, which has made the playoffs just once since the 2017 season, took Carter in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft as the third pick overall in his class.
