BYU Football starts a New Era today as the Big 12 has released the 2023 schedule. This has been a long time coming as they were supposed to do it in October and then in December but the day is finally here. The Cougars are set to face Sam Houston State at home to kick off the 2023 season and then head to SUU before beginning the Big 12 part of their schedule.

BYU Football has some big matchups ahead of them for their first season as a Big 12 team. None of them will be easy and they shouldn’t over look any of them. The two first games are FCS opponents and will be easy but then the big boys are going to come in swinging. Going to Arkansas to play won’t be an easy win with some big stars for BYU going to the NFL. Second straight road game against Kansas and first Big 12 matchup for the Cougars won’t be easy as the Jayhawks were rolling and almost unstoppable at some points. BYU will then face off against another new Big 12 foe Cincinnati will be a fun game to watch.
BYU will then hit the road again to play TCU and playing there is a struggle for the Cougars. The Cougars will then be home against Texas Tech another great game it will be but who every ends with the ball will win it. BYU having to go to Texas isn’t going to be easy and the Cougars will have to play simple and fast football. Another road game for BYU as they head to West Virginia to start the November slate of games. The Cougars will then be home for two straight weeks against Iowa State and Oklahoma to finish off the home games in 2023. Both of these games will be interesting and make senior night fun to stay until the end. BYU will then finish off the season at Oklahoma State again not an easy game or place to win.
