The New Orleans Saints hosted the Los Angeles Rams at Caesars Superdome Sunday afternoon and lost 14-21. The passing attack couldn’t find a consistent rhythm all game and failed to register over 200 passing yards. Derek Carr had a mediocre performance, completing 24 out of 37 pass attempts for 184 yards and one touchdown, with a 64.9% completion percentage, a measly 5.0 yards per attempt, and 7.7 yards per completion.
To make matters worse, their do-everything offensive weapon exited yesterday’s game in a cart.
The New Orleans Saints versatile veteran suffered a significant knee injury
Taysom Hill injured his left knee on a running play late in the fourth quarter after taking a hit from a defender’s helmet into his left knee, and his knee bent awkwardly. Hill remained on the ground as the medical staff tested his leg, and teammates and some Rams players knelt on the ground in solidarity. The medical staff proceeded to cart him off the field as fans cheered his name, and he waved back.
He will miss the rest of the season
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Taysom Hill suffered a torn ACL and additional damage to his left knee. Hill will miss the remainder of the 2024 season, and his injury could cause him to miss some time for the 2025 season. He faces an uphill battle of recovery.
Taysom Hill does, in fact, have a torn ACL and additional damage, source said. A serious injury for the 35-year-old-to-be to recover from. https://t.co/vTmNMMiDsZ

The impact of not having him in the lineup
Not having Taysom Hill for the rest of the season will negatively impact the New Orleans Saints offense because they play better with him in the lineup. When Hill is active, the Saints are 4-4 and 0-4 with him inactive. Finally, he is a reliable weapon for the offense that can throw the football, catch the football, and run the ball effectively. He finishes his 2024 campaign with 23 receptions for 187 yards, 278 rushing yards on 39 carries, six rushing touchdowns, two completions on four attempts for 21 yards and one interception, and one kick return for 41 yards.
He will be missed.
