The New Orleans Saints offense battled numerous injuries throughout the 2024 season, including their top-skill position players. Derek Carr missed seven games, Alvin Kamara missed three, Chris Olave and Taysom Hill missed nine, and Rashid Shaheed missed 11. One offensive weapon who played every game performed very well in the passing game.
The New Orleans Saints TE had his best statistical season as a pro

Juwan Johnson broke out in 2024, boasting career-highs in receptions, targets, yards, receptions per game, and yards per game. Johnson caught 50 passes on 66 targets for 548 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 2.9 receptions per game, 8.3 yards per target, 11.0 yards per reception, and 32.2 yards per game in 17 games and five starts. He finished first on the team in receiving yards, second in receptions and targets, and tied for third in receiving touchdowns.
Since the breakout star completed the final year of his contract, he was set to hit free agency.
New Orleans Saints announce key player returning in 2025

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Saints and Juwan Johnson have agreed to a three-year $30.75 million deal, worth up to $34.5 million, and $21.25 million guaranteed. His $10.25 million APY makes him the eleventh-highest-paid tight end in the NFL per Over The Cap. Since Johnson is an excellent receiving tight end, he fits Kellen Moore’s scheme, but he is not the greatest blocker, however.
