The New Orleans Saints are hoping a healthy Derek Carr will be enough to propel them into the playoffs in 2024. The Saints are coming off a 9-8 season that saw multiple injuries at the most important position in football. They lost the division to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (who also finished 9-8) due to a tiebreaker.
However, the Saints announced today that their offense got some reinforcements prior to the start of the 2024 season.
The New Orleans Saints Add Reinforcements On Offense (Report)
Juwan Johnson has been activated from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list by the Saints.
In early June, Johnson suffered a foot injury that prevented him from participating in training camp and caused him to undergo surgery. Nevertheless, Johnson has been making good progress and will likley return to practice on Tuesday at Tulane’s Yulman Stadium, according to reports. In addition, Johnson will speak with the media following practice for the first time since being injured.
Johnson’s return comes after UDFA tight end Dallin Holker sprained his ankle during warmups before facing the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Yards after catch-capable players are scarce for the Saints, so this is a significant development as the former WR looks to prove why he is among the best vertical threat TEs in the league.
