New Footage From Bizarre Pregame Incident Exposes Tyler Scott Snatching Da’Shawn Womack’s Chain and Hurling It Into the Crowd

College football has seen some wild pregame antics in recent memory. But what Georgia State cornerback Tyler Scott pulled before kickoff against Ole Miss might take the cake for pure audacity.

Fresh video footage exposed the wild moment when Scott approached Ole Miss defensive end Da’Shawn Womack during warmups and ripped a chain clean off his neck. Instead of returning it, he launched it into fans like he was throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game.

Tyler Scott’s Pregame Chain-Snatch on Ole Miss Rival Goes Viral

The bizarre incident went down Saturday as players were getting loose before what would become a 63-7 Ole Miss beatdown. Scott’s chain heist instantly became social media gold, with the community calling it one of the most disrespectful pregame moves in recent memory.

The footage shows Scott casually walking up to Womack, snatching the jewelry, and then bolting toward the stands to chuck it into the crowd before security could react. Everyone had to intervene before things got out of hand, but Scott stayed solid in his payback mode.

According to Georgia State head coach Dell McGee, the drama started when Womack grabbed Scott’s towel during warmups. It, quite frankly, triggered Scott’s aggressive reaction. A simple towel scuffle escalated into grand theft jewelry, complete with Scott taunting Womack before making his escape.

The stunt backfired on Scott and Georgia State. Instead of getting in Womack’s head, it seemed to fire up the entire Ole Miss roster. Womack rented his anger out into a dominant outing, racking up six tackles and a tackle for loss.

Meanwhile, Scott was benched for the game as punishment. The head coach likely decided to save Scott from getting absolutely cooked on the field.

In this chaos, Scott visibly took the wrong approach. He should have let his play do the talking, but instead chose theatrics that backfired badly. Social media roasted him mercilessly. Even Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin didn’t use soft words against his opposition.

Ole Miss Coach Comments on Bizarre Pregame Moment

Kiffin later shared his views when asked about the chain-snatching incident on Sunday. The 50-year-old coach seemed genuinely shocked by what he witnessed on the field.

“That was wild,” Kiffin said. “I’ve never seen anything like that. The guy ripped Womack’s chain off his neck, taunted him and then threw it in the stands. I thought our guys handled themselves really well, a lot better than I would have in that situation.”

Kiffin’s remark about handling it better than he would have was classic coach-speak for “I would have lost my mind.” The veteran coach has seen plenty of pregame trash talk throughout his career. Despite this, Scott’s bold move caught him off guard.

He also disclosed that they had internal discussions about pressing charges against the Georgia State defensive back. However, Womack declined the idea and let Georgia State play.
