The New England Patriots currently have both starting offensive tackle positions locked in for 2025, with Will Campbell at left tackle and Morgan Moses at right tackle. The team must still determine its backup tackle depth, as many players will compete for the swing tackle and reserve roles. Four players will contend for the final two to three backup spots on the 53-man roster, with the possibility of adding more to the fold.

Yasir Durant signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2020, where he played 11 games with one start in his rookie season. He was traded to the New England Patriots in 2021, appearing in seven games with one start, was waived in 2022, and had brief stints with the New Orleans Saints in 2022 and the Denver Broncos in 2023, before landing in the UFL. Durant played at left tackle with the DC Defenders in 2024, developing into one of the league’s top tackles, earning an All-UFL selection, and winning the championship.

According to MLFootball, the Patriots have signed Yasir Durant to a one-year deal. The 27-year-old reunites with his former team, hoping to make the 53-man roster or a spot on the practice squad. Durant will contend for the swing tackle position or a reserve role against four players.
