New England Patriots Owner Dropped Shocking Fortune on Rare Tom Brady Rookie Card

While all the New England Patriots fans are obsessed with their goat quarterback Tom Brady, their owner may be the biggest fan of all. Patriots owner Robert Kraft has always been vocal about his love and affection for the quarterback who brought billions of dollars to his organization and perhaps more importantly to super fan Kraft, 6 Super Bowl victories.

Now, the Patriots’ longtime owner dropped a crazy amount of money to be the owner of one of the rarest Tom Brady sports cards in the world.

Robert Kraft Is Tom Brady’s Biggest Fan

Kraft was a known Patriots fan before he purchased the team many decades ago, and that fandom has just been growing the whole time he has been fortunate to own the team. Kraft has always been candid about how much he loved Brady and how he thinks of him as a son of his own.

However, that does not mean we cannot be shockled by how much Kraft spent to be the proud owner of one of Brady’s rarest sports cards. Per TMX sports, Kraft is now the happy owner of a rookie card from Tom’s 2000 NFL season.

It was bought at an auction, and the card is in incredible condition graded with a 9.5 from Beckett Grading Services and a perfect 10 for the autograph. These are incredibly rare elements to a card, which is why the price was astronomical for a sports collectible item. Kraft reportedly secured the card for a shocking $120,000!

The auctioneers said that this card is  “among the highest condition copies of the card ever certified” and specifically, the highest graded card of its kind. This is why the price ended up hitting the 6 figure mark, and Kraft was the fan who got it. What is even more insane, is that Brady’s card was not even close to the highest sold at the auction!

Of course, Shohei Ohtani, who might be the best ever, had a card go for a shocking number. Specifically, a 2018 card of his that went for $336,000! But king Lebron James surpassed them both with a rookie card that went for $432,000!

I’m sure Kraft was happy with his card.

The combination of Kraft, Brady, and head coach Bill Belichick, is the greatest of any American sports, so it makes sense that Kraft would want his hands on all the memorabilia he can find.
