NFL Fans React
NFL fans and analysts are scratching their heads wondering what New England is doing with their on-and-off relationship with Cunningham. The quarterback was just released by the team yesterday after signing a three-year deal, which many thought would make him the eventual starter for the team. Fans are reacting all over Twitter to this news saying that he deserves better with a different team.
They had to have found some kind of loophole that the rest of the league hasn’t caught on to, because why keep waiving , moving to PS, signing a contract, and then rinse and repeat?

Many fans are questioning the thought process of the head coach and general manager of the Patriots Bill Belichick. New England has not been a good team this season and a lot of that has to do with the poor quarterback play of current starter Mac Jones. Instead of starting another quarterback or picking up one in free agency, Belichick has decided that Jones will be the starter going forward.
New England Patriots Quarterback Troubles
So far this season, Jones has amounted to 1,480 passing yards and seven touchdowns along with seven interceptions. Fans and analysts alike do not think that he has what it takes to be a starting quarterback in the league especially for New England.
That is where Cunningham was supposed to come in and possibly take over the starting job from Jones. He even signed a three-year deal with the team which many thought confirmed that he would become the starter at some point. For now, Cunningham looks like he will be getting practice squad reps with the team, and we will see if he is picked up by another team or makes the roster once again.
