This season has seen Rhamondre Stevenson turn heads towards his direction due to the amount of workload he’s performing on the field. The thing is, the New England Patriots’ success with him may not be real at all.
In their upcoming matchup, the New England Patriots are heavily relying on Stevenson to lead their offensive strategy. With key injuries impacting the team, His versatility and ability to handle a significant workload will be crucial against their opponent.
Stevenson has demonstrated his strength both on the ground and in the passing game, making him a pivotal part of the Patriots’ game plan. His capacity to gain yards after contact and effectively catch passes out of the backfield adds a dynamic element to the offense. The coaching staff is expected to leverage these skills to keep the chains moving and control the tempo of the game.
As the Patriots face a challenging defense, the focus will be on creating opportunities for Stevenson to exploit mismatches. Whether through designed runs or quick screens, getting him involved early can set the tone and open up passing lanes for quarterback Mac Jones. The Patriots will likely prioritize establishing the run to relieve pressure on their young quarterback and create a balanced offensive attack.
Why The New England Patriots’ Success With Rhamondre Stevenson Should Not Be Counted On
According to the latest NFL analysis by Mike Reiss, the success New England experienced with Stevenson may be a sham. This can be seen in an article he wrote for ESPN.
The early surprise: Running back Rhamondre Stevenson has received a heavy workload.
The verdict: Mirage. Stevenson has played 100 snaps through the first two games, and his 46 carries are third most in the NFL behind the Packers’ Josh Jacobs and the 49ers’ Jordan Mason (both of whom have 48). If the Patriots want Stevenson to last over the course of a 17-game season, they are going to have to find spots to lighten his load and turn more toward Antonio Gibson (30 total snaps) and even JaMycal Hasty (three snaps),” Reiss wrote.
Stevenson is poised to be the centerpiece of New England’s offense as they navigate tough matchups in the coming weeks. His ability to perform under pressure and contribute in multiple facets will be instrumental in achieving their goals for the game. On the other hand, the amount of work he’s doing on the field may prove to be detrimental for him and the Patriots.
The success of the Patriots hinges on how effectively they can integrate Stevenson into their strategy and maximize his impact throughout the game. If they fail to make the most out of the running back, the team might find themselves drop down the standings.
