The New England Patriots have a number of challenges heading into the 2024 season. This includes its first year with Jerod Mayo as head coach and wondering if they selected the right rookie quarterback in Drake Maye. So, the last thing the Patriots need is a sudden injury.
Unfortunately, one player has been ruled questionable because of an injury suffered recently. Read below to find out more.
Jabrill Peppers Questionable for Week 1

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, New England Patriots S Jabrill Peppers is officially questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He is dealing with a hip injury that may end up keeping him out of that game.
What would it mean for the Patriots if he is out? Well, it would mean not having a veteran secondary presence with seven years of NFL experience under his belt. Last season, Peppers had two interceptions, a forced fumble, and 78 combined tackles for the Patriots.
Significant Injuries in This Matchup

The New England Patriots are not the only team dealing with significant injuries leading up to this clash. The Cincinnati Bengals have a big injury that they are dealing with as well.
Cincinnati’s main injury comes from WR Tee Higgins. He is currently dealing with a hamstring injury and is listed as doubtful to play on Sunday against the Patriots. However, this is not the only wide receiver issue for the Bengals.
The Bengals are not sure if they will have Ja’Marr Chase for Sunday’s clash. This is not because of an injury. He has been holding out leading up to this Week 1 game hoping for a massive contract extension like other elite wide receivers have gotten. This includes Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson, who arguably reset the wide receiver market for those elite in the position.
New England Patriots Moving Forward

Regardless of whether Peppers ends up playing or not, the Patriots have a challenging game and season ahead. New England is arguably rebuilding this season, with massive competition within the AFC and within their own division. However, if Peppers can play on Sunday against the Bengals, it could give the Patriots a chance to steal a win on the road against a team that may not have two of its elite wide receivers available.
