The New England Patriots are starting over once again in their post Tom Brady era. The Patriots were excited to see what Mac Jones could do, however, that did not pan out as he went 18-24 as a starter.
Now they are in the midst of the Drake Maye era. They are doing everything they can to put weapons around their 21-year-old quarterback. However, they officially won’t be entertaining one specific trade.
The New England Patriots Officially Back Out Of Massive Trade
According to Adam Schefter:
Sources: After inquiring about Brandon Aiyuk’s availability, the Patriots have decided not to explore any further trade possibilities with the 49ers regarding their standout wide receiver. Patriots are excited about their young receivers and want to focus on them.
Ari Meirov further elaborated on the news:
FWIW: It sounds like the #Patriots were willing to offer the most money per year to Brandon Aiyuk of all the teams pursuing him. New England was believed to be offering north of $30M per season.
Seems like Aiyuk wouldn’t want to go there. And on we go…
As the Brandon Aiyuk sweepstakes continue, it appears the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers are the front runners.
It will be interesting to see where Aiyuk winds up.
