The New England Patriots currently have two of their five starting offensive line positions filled, while the other three are vacant. One offensive line position that is vacant and could use an upgrade is the center position following the release of long-time starter and team captain David Andrews. Since the top center free agents are picked over, New England had to settle for a former 1st-round pick from the 2019 draft class.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Patriots signed former Minnesota Vikings center and 18th overall pick from the 2019 draft, Garrett Bradbury, to a 2-year contract worth up to $12 million and $3.8 million guaranteed. Bradbury is on his second team and seventh year in the league with 88 starts at center. He turns 30 in June.

The newcomer had a rough 2024 campaign

Garrett Bradbury struggled during the 2024 campaign and was a liability in pass protection. Bradbury gave up 38 pressures, 28 hurries, six QB hits, and four sacks, posting a 50.5 pass-blocking grade in 18 starts. He surrendered the most pressures and hurries, the second-most QB hits, and the fifth-most sacks and ranked 25th in pass-blocking grade among 28 qualified centers who played a minimum of 50% of snaps (h/t) PFF.
The Minnesota Vikings signed Ryan Kelly and released Bradbury as a result.
