Welcome to another edition of Zitty’s Weekly Picks. Last week’s picks went 5-7-1 but 3-1 in college football. We will analyze seven college football picks along with eight NFL. There’s a lot of juicy matchups on Saturday and Sunday so let’s dive in!

Zitty’s Weekly Picks – Top Week 6 College Football Picks (10/7-10/8)

    Friday, 10/7/22

Over 57.5 Houston vs Memphis 7:30pm

Memphis comes in with three high scoring affairs out of their five games this season and currently sits on a 5-1 over run since late 2021. Houston comes in after putting up 24 points on a stellar Tulsa defense last week. Both these teams’ defenses are subpar so look for the over to hit Friday night.

    Saturday, 10/8/22

    UNC +3.5 vs Miami 4:00pm

Drake Maye has been sensational this season for the Tar Heels, and I look for that to continue in a road matchup against Miami. Since Mack Brown returned for his second stint as UNC’s head coach, he boasts a 3-0 straight up record against Miami. Drake Maye can keep this close and take the +3.5 points. UNC wins outright 34-30.

    Saturday, 10/8/22

Duke -3.5 vs Georgia Tech 4:00pm

Duke has been a pleasant surprise so far in the ACC. Picked before the season to finish at the bottom of the pack their lone loss is on the road against Kansas. Even though Georgia Tech won a sloppy contest last week against Pitt in the pouring rain I’m taking the Blue Devils. Duke wins 31-23.

    Saturday, 10/8/22

USC -13 vs Washington State 7:30pm

Washington State comes in as a scrappy 4-1 squad and a few plays away from being undefeated. I think this is the type of game that USC needs to win convincingly if they want to prove to the country that they’re a playoff contender. The Trojans are averaging 42.2 points per game and defensively allowing 19.6 per contest. I’ll take USC to win 45-24.

    Saturday, 10/8/22

BYU +3.5 vs Notre Dame 7:30pm

Notre Dame heads out west with a 2-2 record. They’ve been mediocre in all facets to start the 2022 campaign. BYU comes in with a 7-2 record the past two seasons against Power 5 opponents. BYU’s defense has been solid this year and this should be a fun game. BYU wins outright 27-23 but take the +3.5.

    Saturday, 10/8/22

Coastal Carolina -13 vs ULM 8:00pm

Grayson McCall, Grayson McCall and Grayson McCall. CCU’s quarterback has the team rolling and I think this contest is a blowout. The Chanticleers won big last year by a score of 59-6. Prior to last week the road team has covered in seven straight ULM games since 2021. Chanticleers win 45-17.

    Saturday, 10/8/22

Over 50 Florida State vs North Carolina State 8:00pm

NC State didn’t play up to its potential last week against Clemson. Both of these squads come into Saturday night with 4-1 records. I’m looking for both of these offenses to find their footing and to safely cover the 50-point spread. NC State wins 31-27.

    Zitty’s Weekly Picks – Top Week 5 NFL Picks – 10/9-10/10

    Sunday, 10/9/22

    Steelers +14 vs Bills 1:00pm

QB Kenny Pickett’s first career start will come against a Bills defense that is ranked number one against the pass. Who is the last rookie quarterback to beat the number one pass defense in his first career start? Ben Roethlisberger in 2004. I certainly don’t see Pickett defeating the Bills, but the offense looked more in sync against the Jets in the second half. Take the +14 points as Bills win 31-21.

    Sunday, 10/9/22

    Bucs -10 vs Falcons 1:00pm

Tom Brady looked like Tom Brady on Sunday night against the Chiefs. It always helps when weapons like Mike Evans, Julio Jones and Chris Godwin return to the lineup. Look for a stout Bucs defense to take advantage of a mediocre Falcons team. Brady should put up big numbers again. Bucs win 38-17.

    Sunday, 10/9/22

    Chargers -2 vs Browns 1:00pm

Justin Herbert will do enough to get a win in Cleveland on Sunday afternoon. These two teams played a wild one last year in a Chargers 47-42 victory in LA. The Chargers are also 5-1 in their last six games as road favorites. Even with certain injuries look for the Chargers to cover a small number. Chargers win 31-24.

    Sunday, 10/9/22

Dolphins -3.5 vs New York Jets 1:00pm

The Jets come into Sunday riding high after a comeback win over the Steelers last week. After a loss to Cincy, Miami is still 11-2 straight up and 10-3 vs the spread dating back to mid-2021. Even with Bridgewater under center, the Dolphins should be able to exploit the Jets defense with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Dolphins win 24-17.

    Sunday, 10/9/22

Over 48.5 Eagles vs Cardinals 4:25pm

The Eagles have been excellent this year on offense and head out west for a matchup against the Cardinals. Jalen Hurts has inserted himself into early MVP discussions, aided by the offseason addition of A.J. Brown. Look for Kyler Murray to keep pace in a high scoring affair. The Eagles will remain undefeated and win 33-30 out in the desert.

    Sunday, 10/9/22

Over 47.5 and Bengals +3.5 vs Ravens 8:20pm

Joe Burrow and company head to Baltimore winning their past two games. I look for Burrow to feed Mixon, Chase, Higgins and Boyd against a very bad Ravens defense. This could possibly be John Harbaugh’s worst defense in his tenure. Lamar should still be stellar and get the Ravens over 20+ points. Take the over and the +3.5 as the Bengals win 34-26.

    Monday, 10/10/22

Over 51.5 Raiders vs Chiefs 8:15pm

Mahomes looks like an absolute wizard on the football field. I don’t see the Raiders slowing him down in primetime. The Raiders come in at 1-3 on the season and know they’ll have to put up points to have any chance to win this game. Take the over at 51.5. Chiefs win 37-28.

Zitty’s weekly picks on the year: 8-12-1 (5-3 NCAAF) (3-9-1 NFL)
