College and NFL football fans have become all too familiar with unique subscriptions being required to watch games.
Nebraska Cornhuskers faithful are being required to subscribe to NBC’s streaming service Peacock to watch the Huskers play the Purdue Boilermakers.
Nebraska Cornhuskers fans had to do the same thing last year
This isn’t the first time Nebraska fans have been forced to subscribe to Peacock if they want to watch the Huskers. When Nebraska took on the Maryland Terrapins in 2023 in a game that could’ve sent them to a bowl game for the first time since 2016, viewers were forced to subscribe to Peacock to watch the game.
An NFL playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs, an NFL team that many Husker fans follow, and the Miami Dolphins also required a Peacock subscription. That game was the most streamed game in NFL history and resulted in a massive jump in subscribers for Peacock.
Fans who have held their ground against Peacock for acts they consider to be anti-consumer are still upset that they will have to subscribe to Peacock to watch a game.

If some don’t want to pay the $7.99 on Peacock, they can always fly to Purdue, get a hotel room, and pay $200 for a single seat game ticket. Your choice.
