Democrat Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi released a statement following the San Francisco 49ers’ win over the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game. The 49ers returned from a 17-point halftime deficit to defeat the Lions on Sunday evening. The 49ers will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII in February.
Nancy Pelosi had a bet with Debbie Dingell
Per GH Media files, Pelosi had a friendly wager with Michigan 6th congressional district representative Debbie Dingell for the NFC Championship Game. If the 49ers won, Dingell was to send Pelosi a Michigan local favorite, Sanders Candy.
Per Dingell’s X account, the Democrat representative was confident the Lions would defeat the 49ers earlier this afternoon. However, the 49ers prevailed on Sunday night.
Anyone who knows us knows how much we both love chocolate, so one of us will end up very happy after this game. I’m confident my Lions will pull it off 🦁🍫 https://t.co/qRvA09eF7L pic.twitter.com/4YL8XlE4VP

The 49ers are set to play the Kansas City Chiefs in February’s Super Bowl. We’ll see if Pelosi has a wager in mind with a representative near Kansas City. Pelosi has a history of taking risks in bets she thinks will pay off in the long run.
