The Cleveland Browns‘ 2024 season officially ended on Saturday when they lost to the Baltimore Ravens 35-10. This result gave them a 3-14 record and the second overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft.
Cleveland had many issues this season, from lousy quarterback play from anyone who took a snap under center, Including Deshaun Watson, who played six and half games before a season-ending Achilles Injury, and now there is a chance that one of the few bright spots on the team could be gone this offseason.
Myles Garrett Could Be Leaving The Cleveland Browns In 2025
Star defensive end Myles Garrett wrapped up his eighth season and finished second for sacks with 14 behind Cincinnati Bengals Trey Hendrickson, who recorded 17.5.
Garrett has been one of the best defensive players in the NFL since he entered the league in 2017, but not a lot of winning on the field has happened over that period, with only making two playoff appearances.
The 29-year-old pass rusher knows a lot about losing games, and in his first season, he was part of a team that failed to win one.
With Garrett getting older and turning 30 this year, there has been concern that the Browns would move off him this offseason to find him a home where he can finish the rest of his career, and Cleveland could get draft picks in return and speed up the process.
There is a 50/50 chance that Garrett will not be on the Cleveland Browns next season, and another star player in the organization doesn’t want to feel a day that he won’t be playing alongside the 2023 NFL Defensive Player Of The Year.
Denzel Ward Has High Praise For Garrett
Cornerback Denzel Ward was drafted a year after Garrett joined the Browns, and the two have formed one of the best defensive end/defensive back duos in the league the past seven years.
Garrett puts a lot of pressure on opposing quarterbacks, which gives Ward time to make plays on the ball. The 27-year-old cornerback has compared him and Garrett to one of the best duos in sports history.
“Me And Myles Are Like Shaq and Kobe,” Ward stated at his media availability on Sunday morning.

Garrett is the glue holding the defense together, and if he is traded away, the Browns could forget about winning any games in 2025 because their defense will be just as bad as their offense or maybe worse.
The entire secondary will take a step back since quarterbacks will have more time to throw without an excellent pass rusher coming after them, and Ward is 100% right. They are like Shaq and Kobe; they feed off each other and need one another to succeed.
There will be a few changes in Cleveland this offseason, and hopefully, big-time changes to the defense aren’t one of them, or it will be another long year on the shores of Lake Erie.
