The Atlanta Falcons finished with an 8-9 record during the 2024 NFL regular season. One player who will be entering the final year of his contract is tight end Kyle Pitts.

He was drafted fourth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by Atlanta from the Florida Gators. Some people think that Pitts could use a fresh start elsewhere. However, with him entering the final year of his deal, many people think that he could seek a long-term extension elsewhere.
Atlanta Falcons Tight End Kyle Pitts Ends Up In Latest Trade Rumors Reported By NFL Insider

Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reported about the Falcons star tight end and whether or not he could be potentially traded before the start of the 2025 NFL season. Schultz said,
“Sources: Multiple teams have reached out to the #Falcons about the availability of TE Kyle Pitts. Nothing is imminent, and Atlanta would prefer to keep him — but I’m told it would take at least a Day 2 pick to even spark serious talks.”
There is no doubt that a few teams could trade for a tight end. The New York Jets and the Indianapolis Colts are two teams who could potentially look to trade for the star tight end. Pitts during the 2024 season with Atlanta caught 47 passes for 602 yards receiving and four touchdowns, along with averaging 12.8 yards per reception. He was also targeted 74 times last season.
There is no doubt that he has been underutilized with the Falcons during his four years with the team so far. If Atlanta can’t sign him to a long-term deal, then this is why they are going to try and trade him away to another team. If the Falcons traded him away, Charlie Woerner would be Atlanta’s starting tight end for the 2025 NFL season.
