The Cleveland Browns have a 2-6 record to start the 2025 NFL season. They are on a bye week this week and they will not play again until after the NFL trade deadline passes.

After the bye week, the Browns will be facing the New York Jets. There are a lot of roster decisions that Cleveland may have to make before the NFL trade deadline. Tight end David Njoku and quarterback Shedeur Sanders have been mentioned in trade rumors. Is there any chance that cornerback Denzel Ward could potentially be on the trade block?
Teams Have Asked About Cleveland Browns CB Denzel Ward

Ward will not be a free agent until after the 2027 NFL season. However, with the Browns not being in contention anytime soon, there is a chance that they could trade away a potential big-time player from the roster.
NFL Talk Sports posted on Twitter on Wednesday,
“Update: Multiple teams have reached out to the Browns to discuss the availability of CB Denzel Ward, per league source.”
There are teams that could use cornerback help. It would be interesting to know who the teams are that are interested in him. During the 2025 NFL season, he has recorded 25 tackles, one interception, and five pass deflections. Ward would no doubt be a game-changer on a championship contender. He is 28 years old and is still one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
The odds of the Browns trading him before the NFL trade deadline is not likely. If Cleveland however were to trade him before the trade deadline, it would be one of the biggest shockers in the NFL. A lot of Browns fans would then call for general manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski to be fired if Ward was traded. It would then be followed by fans calling for owner Jimmy Haslam to sell the team.
