The Morgan State University Bears (1-2) of the MEAC will host the Virginia University of Lynchburg Dragons (0-4) of the National Christian College Athletic Association.
The Bears got their first win of the season after suffering a tough outing from FBS level Georgia Southern Eagles. They also lost a close game against the Towson Tigers in the Battle for Greater Baltimore. The third time was the charm as they were able to get their first win of the season against the Sacred Heart Pioneers 24-9.
The Dragons have struggled this season and are still looking for the first win. They have lost to Virginia Union, Presbyterian College, Delaware State and North Carolina Central.
Bears Offensive Keys for the Win
The Bears need a great game from QB Carson Baker who should be ready for a breakout performance. QB Duce Taylor has also seen some game action and has had some success. The rushing attack is comprised of RB Alfonzo Graham and RB Jabriel Johnson. Both backs have combined for over 350 yards rushing and three touchdowns. WR Andre Crawley leads the team in receiving with over 100 yards this season. WR Avery Jones leads the team in touchdown receptions with two.
Bears Offensive Keys for the Win
LB Lawrence Richardson leads the team with 29 tackles. LB Erick Hunter is second on the team with 19 tackles and CB Bryan Stukes is third on the team 14 tackles. Not to be outdone CB Jae’Veyon Morton and CB Jordan Toles both got an interception each on the season.
The Dragons will come in hungry for their first win of the season. The Bears should be able to pull out another victory. The Bears beat the Dragons 59-26 in 2019 in their only matchup.
